Frequently asked questions
Q :Can we have colour and black and white photographs?
A : As we shoot exclusively in digital format, all images can be provided in colour or black and white, or sepia. This will be carried out post-wedding using our experience and judgement of what image works best in each format.
Q : How many photos will I get on my DVD?
A : That depends on several factors like weather conditions, the venue and amount of guests, but on average you will have about 400 to 500 images, and if you choose to have a disc with the images on for your own use, they are all high resolution in JPEG format. So, we press the shutter once too often rather than once too few. On a full day we expect to take at least 700 pictures.
Q : How do you cope with the weather?
A : As much as possible, we record the weather as any other aspect of the wedding day, as that is all part of the atmosphere of your day. Don't worry, bad weather doesn't neccesarily mean bad photographs; often reflected light from wet ground creates even better lighting than on a sunny day, and guests are much less likely to squint! We use up to the minute forecasts on the day to spot any windows in the weather which can be used. Whatever the weather, you and your guests will make it the day that it is! We also bring matching black and white umbrellas for you to use to keep you dry if the worst happens!
Q : Do you cover the whole wedding?
A : We can cover every aspect of your wedding up until the last person falls on the dancefloor if required! We certainly won't leave if you want us to stay a little longer. The more time we have for taking photographs, the more photographs you get! We'd rather stay that little bit longer and give you a quality selection of shots from the day.
Q : What style of photos do you take?
A : Robin specialises in photo-journalism, recording moments as they happen in a reportage storybook style, rather than following a set format of traditional 'standard' wedding photographs. It is important to know this is exactly what you are looking for, rather than a more old fashioned approach. If you require some group shots we will of course cover these, and discuss this at the pre-wedding meeting. A maximum of 10 group shots works well and stops your guests getting bored waiting! We won't spend the day organising you or your guests, or getting in the way, as this does not reflect our style or ethos.
Q : Is the price really all inclusive or are there any hidden charges?
A : There are absolutely no hidden costs involved, you decide from the price list what you require beforehand, you can even organise the prints and organise the album yourself if you wish to keep within your budget. You can come to us at any point after the wedding to order prints or albums at the price quoted at the time of your wedding.
Q : Can I pay in installments?
A : We appreciate that everyone is on a budget, therefore will accept payment in any amount of installments before the event. We normally ask for a 10% deposit to make a firm booking, then request that the balance is paid in full 28 days before the event
Q : Can I do what I want with the photos and can I copy them for friends?
A : The copyright of the photographs belong to us as the artist and this should be acknowledged where appropriate, however if you have purchased a disc you are free to use the images as you wish, as long as it is not for commercial use. We do request that images aren't uploaded to social networking sites or other internet sites without our permission to protect both parties as images can be easily copied.
Q : How far do you travel?
A : We have no limitations, within reason! Many of our clients will use us because of our unique style and reputation, therefore we are more than happy to travel to work with the right clients, rather than just covering all weddings in a local area. We have covered weddings as far apart as Scotland and Cornwall! Due to the time involved in order to deliver exceptional quality, we only cover a set amount of weddings each year; therefore it's first come first served!
Q : How many photographers do you use?
A : Normally Robin will work alone, however we can provide an additional photographer to cover other aspects of the day and guarantee total coverage of events, from different angles and perspectives. There would however be an additional charge for this; please contact us for more details.
